All Lithium Mines In Australia

Below is a list of all the current lithium mines within Australia and all upcoming projects. If you believe we missed any projects please contact us here and send us your information with any photos and we will add it to the list.

Mt Cattlin Lithium Mine – Talison

Mt Cattlin - Talison lithium mine

In 2017 Talison Lithium mine commenced construction of a second large chemical grade lithium processing plant (CGP2) which which was officially opened in 2019. This project will more than double production capacity at the mine to 1.34mtpa of lithium concentrates.

Greenbushes Lithium Mine

Greenbushes lithium mine

Located South and right next ot the town of Greenbushes in Western Australia. The attractive location of the Lithium mines operations, both in proximity to Perth and the coastal holiday regions of the South West Western Australia, enables us to recruit and retain a talented and stable workforce who generally live in the local area. Operated by Talison Lithium, this mine is located in the scenic region of Greenbushes, Western Australia. For those interested in working in such settings, consider looking into mining-specific resume tips and learning about what makes a mining recruiter valuable in the industry.

Wodgina Lithium Mine

Wodgina lithium mine

As one of the largest known hard rock lithium deposits in the world, Wodgina Lithium mines Project is a Tier 1 asset.

Wodgina is currently undergoing a number of upgrades such as 81km, 10-inch natural gas pipeline, a 64MW gas-fired power station, expansion of accommodation facilities, extension to tailings storage facilities and an upgrade to the water supply infrastructure. Managed by Mineral Resources, Wodgina Lithium Mine is known as one of the world’s largest hard-rock lithium deposits. Mt Marion Lithium Mine

Mt Marion lithium mine

During 2018-2019, The Mt Marion Lithium mine site underwent an upgrade to increase the nameplate capacity of the plant to 450,000 tonnes per annum.

A new current upgrade project is underway to increase production to 900,000 tonnes of mixed grade spodumene concentrate per annum by December 2022.

Mt Cattlin Lithium Mine – Allkem

Mt Cattlin lithium mine

The lithium concentrate (spodumene) product made at the Mt. Cattlin plant is trucked to Esperance Port for shipment to an Asian clientele.

The Mt Cattlin spodumene project has continued to be a dependable, affordable supplier of high-quality lithium concentrate since it resumed production in late 2016.

Bald Hill Lithium Mine

Bald Hill lithium mine plant

Located in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia, 50 kilometres south-east of Kambalda.

The Bald Hill hard rock lithium facility produces a sizable amount of tantalum as a byproduct and top-notch +1 mm spodumene concentrate (low mica, low iron).

The project started up in March 2018 with a 155 ktpa spodumene concentrate production capacity, and the first shipment of lithium concentrate was finished up in early May 2018.

Pilgangoora Lithium Mine

Pilgangoora  lithium mine

Located in Western Australia, 120 kilometres from Port Hedland. One of the largest hard rock lithium resources in the world, the Pilgangoora ore body is regarded as strategically significant within the global lithium supply chain.

Because Pilbara Minerals can raise production quickly to meet increased market demand for lithium because to the presence of two processing plants, Pilbara Minerals can reach markets more quickly.

Ngungaju Lithium Plant

Ngungaju lithium Plant

In October 2021 we successfully produced the first spodumene concentrate from the coarse circuit at our Ngungaju Plant.

Finniss Lithium Project

Finniss Lithium Project

The Finniss Project benefits greatly from the proximity to grid electricity, gas, and rail as well as the 88 km trucking distance to Darwin Port on cemented roads.

Core hopes to start building at Finniss before the end of 2021, with initial production anticipated by the end of 2022, subject to ongoing favourable market conditions for lithium, funding, and a final investment decision.

Located close to Darwin Port, the Finniss Lithium Project benefits from excellent infrastructure. This is an attractive location for job seekers, especially with the project’s proximity to Darwin. Explore current Darwin job listings to find available positions in the area.
