About the Opportunity

Carpentaria Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to provide effective services in the treatment of water and wastewater to the residents of Carpentaria Shire.

Reporting to the Manager of Water and Wastewater, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Operating and maintaining the water & wastewater treatment plants and water & wastewater pump stations;
  • Performing routine plant, pump station and system inspections to maintain operating capability and organise any maintenance work or configuration requirements; and
  • Monitor, control and optimise process performance in response to water and wastewater quality and or hydraulic variations.

To be considered, you will hold a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or equivalent and have sound knowledge in working with SCADA and Telemetry systems. You must also be willing to participate in an on-call and call-out roster.
