Your Opportunity Awaits
Commencing in February , our 2-year traineeship program will allow you to gain hands on experience across our facilities in Southeast Queensland within Dam & Water Treatment Operations.
Our Trainee Program is designed to set you up for success within the water industry. As a Trainee Water Treatment Operator, you’ll be part of a team of experienced Water Treatment professionals where you will gain on the job experience while working towards a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
From collecting and analysing water samples to assisting with plant operations, you’ll gain the competencies needed to contribute to water treatment processes throughout your traineeship.
What Youll Be Doing
- Get hands-on with drinking water treatment.
- Work closely with our experienced Water Treatment Operators to tackle challenges in processes and equipment, ensuring water quality remains at the highest standard.
- Identify and solve equipment issues, helping to maintain smooth operations.
- Record and report daily plant data, keeping everything on track.
- Support maintenance efforts to keep our facilities in shape.
- Collaborate with service providers for routine and emergency maintenance tasks.
Your role will include working on varying shifts or weekends, but you will be part of a team making a significant impact and shift / weekend penalty rates may apply.
For those interested in our Mt Crosby operations, trainees will be expected to participate in a continuous shift roster as they advance in the program. This means you will rotate through various shiftsmorning, afternoon, and nightensuring 24/7 coverage and gaining experience across different times of day.
About You
To be successful as a Trainee Water Treatment Operator, you should have a keen interest in maths & science and the way things work and like to use your skills to solve problems. You will have a good awareness of safety and will follow all safe work practices and procedures to ensure the protection of yourself and others whilst contributing to the supply of safe, reliable drinking water.
In addition to the Certificate III, you will be willing to undertake a range of other training such as confined space training, first aid certificate, and any additional training deemed necessary to carry out the duties of an Operator Supply.
Youll also need:
- A drivers license
- Basic computer skills; and a
- Willingness to learn how to use new tools and equipment.

Whats In It for You?
This position has a starting salary at $46,001 per annum plus % superannuation, your remuneration will increase upon completion of various milestones throughout the trainee program. Once you complete the program, your salary will increase up to $67,445 per annum plus superannuation.
