Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a Traffic Engineer for a temporary contract assignment.
This current vacancy is suit to a band 6 traffic or transport engineer with ideally 2 years of local government experience in a traffic and transport engineering role. This will be a temporary contract role for 2 months.
As a traffic engineer you will be responsible for reviewing and providing comments on transport, traffic and parking related issues and assisting with the development and implementation of Traffic Management Plans.
The successful candidate will have proven traffic engineering experience, strong communication skills and the ability to hit the ground running and working independently.
Responsibilities and Experience for this role:

Responsibilities and Experience for this role:
- Assess and investigate customer/residents’ requests
- Assess and prepare Engineering/ traffic reports on planning referrals
- Assist with development of traffic management plans
- Provide recommendations to resolve traffic and parking issues
- Investigate the effectiveness of transport related projects
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant experience/qualifications
- Previous Local Government experience in a traffic engineering role
- Knowledge and understanding of municipal traffic issues.
- Ability to prepare and review Traffic Management Plans
- Sound communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to provide timely and professional advice
