Within Australia, the business has a focus on developing lasting relationships with customers across Australia and exporting grain to their overseas networks.
The Role
Leading a small, but established team of senior and junior traders, you will be responsible for managing all cash and futures positions for the Australian business and oversee and manage all risk positions and reporting responsibilities.
You will continue to build strong relationships with domestic growers and consumers and be responsible for developing a sustainable and long-term trading and marketing plan for the Australian market. You will have full responsibility for the Australian trading P&L and identify market opportunities for growth.
You will provide regular market information to the global trading team and relevant stakeholders across the business group, including domestic pricing, supply, and risk updates, acting as the key point of contact domestically for the division. You will represent our client within the Grains industry domestically, ensuring a close partnership with industry bodies and relevant players.
The Person
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the domestic and global grains market, ideally with experience in the wheat, barley, sorghum and oilseeds sector and an excellent understanding of the dynamics at play for optimizing trading. You will have a deep connection and understanding of the grains and oilseeds trading sector, with an established network across industry groups and trading houses. You will be a solution orientated person, with a creative business planning nature and able to make timely, risk appropriate decisions when actively managing a trading position.
