The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC) is an independent statutory office responsible to the Tasmanian Minister for Education, Children and Youth.
TASC is responsible for the development of appropriate standards, the accreditation of courses, and the assessment and certification of student achievement in senior secondary schooling across all educational sectors in Tasmania.
Our sessional staff include Setting Examiners, Critics, Supervisor Coordinators, Exam Supervisors, Marking Coordinators and Markers.
Sessional staff are employed by TASC, and are managed through the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP). Accordingly, persons interested in these roles should record their details on this register.

This TASC sessional employment register is not a vacancy and inclusion on a register does not guarantee any offer of employment will be made.
The following roles may arise within TASC across Tasmania:
Setting Examiner
To prepare an exam paper and provide a set of solutions or marking tool.
Exam Critic
Review and report on an exam paper, including the accompanying marking guide.
Marker
Marking of accredited senior secondary exam/materials.
Marking Coordinator
Organise and coordinate the marking of external assessment for a TASC accredited senior secondary course.
Supervisor (Examinations)
Ensure that all TASC instructions and external assessment rules are followed throughout the exam period at the allocated exam centre under the day-to-day guidance and supervision of the Supervisor Coordinator.
Supervisor Coordinator (Examinations)
Ensure that all TASC instructions and external assessment rules are followed throughout the exam period at the allocated exam centre, coordinate Supervisors and the preparation of the exam spaces, and exam supervision. Manage the security of exam papers and ensure that there is no unauthorised entry to exam rooms or storage.
Essential Requirements
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations . This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Selection from the Register
Where a vacancy occurs the TASC Sessional Employment Register will be examined to identify those persons who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, currency and qualifications to undertake the duties of the vacancy and who will be available to work.
Where vacancies are identified and an applicant(s) are regarded as being suitable to undertake the particular appointment, a merit-based selection process will be undertaken. The selection process may involve formal interviews.
