Our Community Supports Services are designed to help our clients live the life they deserve. These centers offer a welcoming space where clients can enjoy activities, engage with the community, and develop essential life skills and confidence.
Our programs cater to individuals with a wide range of support needs, including those who use wheelchairs and other aids. We also offer additional support for our clients’ medical and care needs.
Clients may attend our Community Supports Programs on weekdays or join community participation activities on weekends, tailored to their individual levels of disability and goals.
Our support workers engage with clients to develop skills through activities such as cooking, music, crafts, leisure sports, reading, singing, and much more.
About The role:
The role of a Support Worker in our Community Supports Services is to support clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities. Additionally, this role may involve providing in-home support for clients, which could require working afternoon and night shifts.
About You:
- Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Holder of a valid Australian Driver’s License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Full COVID vaccination status
- Experience with high-needs Disability clients
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable)
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable)
- Handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting) – desirable
