About the role
As a Support Worker, you will make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care in a family setting whilst working within the parameters of the Key Assets Practice Framework.
The types of duties/activities will include:
School pickup, participate in community events, sports/outdoor recreation, engage with families, taking Children and Young People to appointments, provide therapeutic supports, implement therapy goals, meet NDIS goals, and provide written contact reports.
About your attributes and experience
- An understanding of trauma informed therapeutic care to assist in deescalating and responding to critical incidents with the young person.
- Have experience in dealing with children and young people with ‘complex needs and behaviours’ and the ability to therapeutically manage these behaviours.
- Must have prior experience in working with vulnerable children and young people of various ages from 0 – 18 years.
- Full, clean open Australian driver’s license (specific to the state) and access to a fully insured car is also an essential requirement
- Must have a current ‘paid employment’ Working with Children card for WA and able to obtain a NDIS Worker Screen.
- Have a current ‘First Aid/CPR’ certificate
- Statutory Checks will be completed on all new staff as part of our recruitment process
