The main duties of this position are:
· Providing a quality and innovative educational program for children.
· Working collaboratively with fellow educators to develop and implement effective programs which consider each child’s knowledge, strengths, interests, culture and wellbeing.
· Supporting and guiding children’s behaviour in positive ways.
· Providing clear and open communication with families and staff
· Providing and maintaining a nurturing environment
· Role modelling and promoting Westside Christian College’s CLASS Values.
This position is located in our Kindergarten on our Stuart Street Campus.
Requirements of the position
Our Kindergarten staff are central to establishing constructive and robust relationships with our families and the wider community. The successful candidate must have a genuine love of working with children and their families, be enthusiastic, motivated and a real team player.
Your passion for early childhood education and inclusion support will be matched by your reflective nature, analytical skills, sense of curiosity and fun.
We are seeking someone who is excited about our vision and values and is dedicated to ensuring children are given opportunities to reach their full potential. Experience in a similar role is highly desired.
In addition, you will have:
· As a minimum, a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or a Certificate III in Education Support, as per ACECQA regulations
· Senior First Aid (including asthma and anaphylaxis management)
· A thorough knowledge and experience of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS).
