Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists within the Copper Smelter for the role of MPS Operations Shift Supervisor reporting to the Superintendent – Primary Smelting & MPS Operations. You will be required to effectively co-ordinate and supervise a team of personnel carrying out operational work within the Mines Power Station. This position is based residentially in Mount Isa, working a 42-hour week continuous shift roster. Occasionally you may be required to be flexible in terms of work times and rosters.

• Provide mentorship and supervision to your team.
• Communicate effectively across multiple levels of the business
• Be task focused and prepare to work with others to achieve daily targets and outcomes

The successful candidate will have the following skillset and attributes:

• Experience in supervising and leading teams, as well as experience with heavy industry
• A high regard for safety and a regimented mind set.
• Technical knowledge and organisational skills will ensure you thrive in this fantastic opportunity for career progression
• Must have Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualifications
• Currently hold a Boiler Advanced (BA) and Turbine Open (TO) Certification
• Ability to work in the Lead Smelter area
