Mount Pleasant Operation is a mine based in Muswellbrook NSW.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor, Drill and Blast to control blasting operations on-site and be responsible for the coordination of drilling activities at Mount Pleasant Operation. Following a 5/4, 4/5, 5/5  Day Shift Lifestyle Roster, you will provide effective safety leadership to the drill and blast crew ensuring that production targets are met, a safe and healthy workforce for all employees is maintained and community & environmental compliance is adhered to.
Thiess at Mount Pleasant Operation delivers mine planning, overburden and coal removal and drill and blast for our client.   Mount Pleasant Operation is predominantly an on-seam blasting operation utilising electronic initiating products. 
Your duties will include: 
  • Accountable for leading safe, efficient, and effective blasting
  • Working towards cost optimisation through the effective utilization and care of plant and personnel
  • Responsible for the effective leadership, training, and development of the Blast Crew
  • Ensure that drilling and blasting production targets and efficiencies are maximised and carried out in a cost-effective manner

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential (including step up experience)
  • NSW Blast User Licence is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-performing team
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders
