Glencore’s North Queensland Operations are seeking an experienced Superintendent – Business Improvement to lead continuous improvement across our operational teams and embed a culture of accountability, discipline and value creation.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving sustainable performance improvement, delivering genuine cost savings, and ensuring continuous improvement principles are embedded as a core value across the business.

About the role
Reporting to the Manager – Surface Operations, you will lead the analysis, prioritisation and execution of continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. You will work closely with site leadership, operational teams and Group improvement functions to identify inefficiencies, improve systems and processes, and lift functional capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and mentoring teams to deliver against performance targets
- Driving the application of production and continuous improvement processes across the operation
- Leading end-to-end analysis of processes, data, organisation design and systems to identify improvement opportunities
- Coordinating analysis of production performance metrics and benchmarking operational performance
- Building strong cross-functional integration and collaboration across site and Group improvement teams
- Developing and managing a portfolio of operational improvement initiatives
- Coordinating and monitoring approved initiatives through to completion
- Identifying functional capability gaps and implementing actions to enable functional excellence
- Supporting operational leaders to embed continuous improvement as a core value within their teams
About you
- You are a values-driven leader with a strong continuous improvement mindset and the ability to influence across complex operational environment
- A degree in Mining, Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, or a related engineering discipline, or significant demonstrated industry experience leading continuous improvement and change
- Proven experience in continuous improvement, governance or operational excellence
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial acumen
- Solid knowledge of continuous improvement frameworks, systems and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to standardise processes and drive compliance
- Excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills
