Shutdown Cost Engineer

Position Overview:


We are seeking an energetic, AI-driven Shutdown Cost Engineer to support shutdowns at Peak Downs Coal Mine. You will be responsible for monitoring costs, tracking schedules, mitigating risks, and developing forecasts to keep projects on track. Using data-driven insights, you will help drive efficiency and innovation in project controls. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to best-practice shutdown execution in one of Australia’s top coal operations.

Key Responsibilities:


• Monitor and analyse project costs to ensure efficiency and budget alignment.

• Track and report schedule progress, ensuring adherence to project timelines.

• Identify and mitigate potential budget and timeline risks with proactive solutions.

• Develop forecasts and recovery plans to maintain project momentum.

• Provide data-driven insights to project managers for informed decision-making and process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:


• 5 years’ experience in Mining/Heavy Industry Shutdowns 

• Mechanical Engineering degree (preferred)

• Strong background in project controls, cost tracking, and scheduling.

• Ability to identify risks and develop proactive solutions.

• Passion for continuous improvement and innovation in project controls
