SERVICE SUPERVISOR

Our client is seeking an experienced Supervisors within the Electrical and Communications industries for an immediate start for an ongoing casual assignment.
Working hours: Monday to Friday hours per week
Location: Malaga / Perth CBD
Start: ASAP
Hourly rate: $55 – $60 p/h Super
Start: Immediately
Length: Ongoing – depending on client requirements. Potential for perm placement for the right candidate.

Pay rate: Depending on experience
The role:
- Provide strong leadership and support to the service teams.
- Instruct, coach and train apprentices and tradespeople requiring assistance.
- Oversee the delivery of safe and quality maintenance work on time and within budget.
- Keep accurate records of test results, as in-installed drawings/documentation and working calculations and drawings.
- Efficient housekeeping including care and maintenance of the Company’s plant and equipment. Assist with, either directly or indirectly, scheduling, cost control, safety, environmental and quality functions of maintenance work.
- Assist the Service Key Account Manager or Service Manager with preparing and submitting quotes as requested.
- Prepare and submit quotes for minor service projects and day to day-to-day service jobs.
- Assist with achieving project margins, identifying any problems with cost and time implications, and taking corrective action as required.
- Ensure all variations are identified, submitted, and authorised by the customer in accordance with the contract.
- Managing labour to maintain the required productivity levels.
- Assist in ordering/purchasing materials in accordance with planned delivery dates.
- Promptly address customer concerns to ensure the resolution on site and maintain the relationship.
- Recognise and communicate to the Key Account Manager any opportunities for future work with existing customers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the customer and/or their representative.
- Work closely with other divisions of the company (Audio Visual, Integrated Services and Major Projects) passing over potential leads and managing all tasks that arise as a result of or form part of the project defects liability periods (DLP).
- Ensure conformance to Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems across all work.
- Performance management of techs and apprentices, ensuring that their duties are being completed to the required standard.
- Ensure all Electrical and Communications compliance documentation is submitted in a timely manner, for example Preliminary and Completion Notices, Electrical Safety Certificates, Comms TCA form, etc.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Service Manager or Key Account Manager from time to time.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Technical problems that occur outside of standard operating procedures.
- Control of unforeseen labour, supplier and other contract issues that may arise.
- Use of SimPRO, server access and communication with clients.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements and access to privileged information.
- WA Electrical and Communications Licence
- Current and valid WA Electrical Nominee Accreditation
- Current Open Cabling Registration
- Current and valid unrestricted WA Drivers licence
- Experience with service and maintenance work on commercial sites
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements
- Excellent inter-personal skills with employees and customers at all levels
This position reports directly to the Service Manager and you will have up to 8 direct reports.
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to step up to supervisor and then potentially to Account Manager or someone who doesn’t want the hands-on work with a supervisor role.
