The Opportunity
SEE Group have a great career opportunity available for an experienced Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join our highly professional and skilled team. This is a full-time role based in the Ipswich/Logan regions. You’ll work closely with our Urban Development division across a large subdivision project. We are seeking a WHS Advisor with a background in Civil Construction who can lead the safety requirements with the project team. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, well organised, able to work autonomously and are striving to achieve Safety Differently.
Responsibilities
- Providing onsite support, upskilling and facilitation of incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Partnering with project team to support proactive management of key health and safety risks and providing advice in line with WHS Management System.
- Conduct WHS Audits and report on findings
- Implementation and WHS strategies, initiatives, training and coaching.
- Coordination of site-based health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in all areas of the WHS function.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Hold a Diploma in WHS and Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE)
- Current Drug & Alcohol Screening/Testing Qualification
- Previous experience on Civil Construction projects
- Have a current First Aid & CPR certificate
- Be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and adept at learning new IT systems
- Be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination, including a drug and alcohol screen
- Have WHS risk management knowledge to facilitate the development of safe work procedures
- A Safety Differently/Safety II mindset
- A team player with a can do attitude that includes assisting disciplines other than WHS
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Check.
