About the role
The Senior Track Inspector is responsible for inspecting, assessing, and reporting on track conditions to ensure compliance with PTA standards. This role involves providing technical support for track maintenance, conducting asset inspections, attending diagnostic runs, managing defect testing, and protecting assets. They analyse data, scope maintenance jobs, recommend work programs, verify work quality, initiate and close work orders, and maintain asset data. Supervision of contractors is also required to meet safety and technical standards.
Additionally, the Inspector ensures safety compliance, develops safety plans, and contributes to incident reviews. They support continuous improvement by recommending best practices, evaluating new technologies, and assisting with team training and competency maintenance. The role involves collaboration with PTA teams and relevant agencies to optimize track service operations.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Certified in Rail Infrastructure with extensive track inspection experience, knowledge of safety standards, and ability to operate rail inspection equipment.
Skilled in building relationships, working independently or in teams, and effective negotiation.
Strong in interpreting asset data, solving issues, and managing emergency situations.
Proficient in planning maintenance, coordinating resources, and using Microsoft Office and diagnostic tools.
