Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Perth.  Fortescues Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster:  Monday to Friday

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the continuous development of the Delta Operations platform. Delta is Fortescues in-house built platform that facilitates the management of operational data, including planning, metallurgy, inventory, reconciliation, and HME. The modular design of Delta allows new functionality to be developed, tested, and released in stages. You will be responsible for managing GitHub releases and overseeing Delta’s repositories, ensuring that we adhere to naming conventions and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage GitHub releases and ensure smooth deployment processes.
  • Oversee Delta’s repositories, maintaining organization and compliance with naming conventions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions using .NET and Angular.
  • Conduct code reviews to uphold code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to foster their growth.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, ensuring timely delivery of enhancements and fixes.
  • Design and implement solutions leveraging AWS services, including Lambda and Step Functions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Significant experience as a software developer, preferably in a similar domain.
  • Proficiency in .NET and Angular frameworks.
  • Experience with AWS cloud architecture, including Lambda and Step Functions, is a must.
  • Strong understanding of Git and experience managing GitHub repositories and releases.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing team members.
