Current Opportunity

Reporting to the Team Lead Mechanical and Process Engineering, we have an opportunity available for a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our team based in Brisbane (with field travel required).

This role will be an integral part of the team, dedicated to the optimisation of performance and reliability of our assets in the Surat Basin. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring that our operations embed best practice, embrace continuous improvement and ensure top tier reliability across our assets.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert technical support and employ advanced troubleshooting techniques to assist frontline operations. Ensure that our equipment operates safely, reliably, and profitably.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Senex Energy policies and government regulations, including WHSE, aboriginal heritage and land ownership legislation, HR/ER/IR, and Finance.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the management of rotating and compression/generation plant equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance. Identification of performance gaps and development of strategies to improve.
  • Maintenance Strategies: Develop and implement maintenance strategies, surveillance and routines for rotating equipment.
  • Project Work: Execute SIB, operations, and minor capital work, including MOC process, internal approvals, and contractor engagement as required. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience with rotating equipment to drive operational excellence and support the continued success of Senexs Surat Basin operations.

About You

You will be tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated experience postgraduate in an operational environment, preferably in Coal Seam Gas (CSG) upstream. You will also come with experience in leading Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance strategies and have a sound understanding of gas processing relevant to maximising rotating equipment performance.

Your experience will include the selection, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Gas Engine Generators, Screw, Recip and Rotary Vane Compressors, Fin/Fan Coolers, Electric Motors and Pumps. You will have a strong track record in process plant optimisation using theoretical knowledge, software, and testing, as well as familiarity with the latest data analytic tools and techniques. RPEQ is preferred.

If you have a track record in efficiently delivering small projects, including the management of site works, we want to hear from you as we need you to bring your skills to the forefront and be a key player in our Asset Engineering team.

A valid car driving license is required for this role, and you must be willing and able to travel to site in the Surat Basin on a regular basis.
