Were looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our Future Energy Group.
GHD has rich expertise in delivering projects for clients through EPCM, EPC, Owners Engineer and other delivery models in Western Australia and elsewhere. This is complimented by our local teams strong pedigree in the end-to-end power system design which includes generation, transmission, distribution, renewables, battery energy storage and hydrogen technology. Located in Perth, you will work with a team of highly experienced engineers and project managers and be engaged our local, interstate and global operations.
This position offers good variety of work and will see you involved in:
Providing support to power projects being delivered across Australia.
Developing power system models for connection of the generators, loads, and storages and configure them to align with the local and national regulations.
Generating models, studies and reports for network services providers, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), developers and industrial clients.
Supporting project managers and bid coordinators to prepare successful proposals for wining new work.
What you will bring to the team
- Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with specialisation in power system analysis.
- Knowledge of energy systems, including generation, transmission and distribution.
- Working knowledge of WA Wholesale Electricity Market and Technical Rules.
- Experience in power system analysis in generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Experienced with power systems modelling and analysis tools, such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Proficiency with ETAP, PSCAD and Python is advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience with planning and connection studies, including load flow and fault analysis.
- Experience in stability studies and generator performance standards assessment is preferred.
- In this client-facing role, you will need solid communication, report-writing skills and be comfortable attending project and partner meetings.
