With our Great Cobar Project planned to commence development of dual declines, we have a unique opportunity for a driven individual looking to take the next step up in their career as our Senior Mining Engineer for the Project. Going back-to-back with the Mining Superintendent, this role offers hands-on leadership experience on a key high-speed development project which will be sure to propel your career forward.

Roster: 8/6 DIDO or FIFO opportunity from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, 12 hr day

Location: Cobar region

Responsibilities include

  • Review mine plans and schedules for the operations team. Assist with changes when required
  • Tracking and monitoring operational performance to inform planning and decision making
  • Aid in the implementation of key pieces of infrastructure to ensure timely delivery of the project
  • Providing input and reviewing weekly schedules for safe and effective production of Aurelias Cobar Region resources
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure production and infrastructure schedules are achieved on budget
  • Accountable for all interactions and operational activities for the North Mine whilst on roster

About You

Role requirements:  

  • Bachelors Degree in Mine Engineering, or equivalent
  • 4 years experience in an underground mining production environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively problem solve
  • Strong communication skills to drive project outcomes and demonstrated ability to work professionally and effectively with diverse teams
  • Proficient in the utilisation of mining software Deswik CAD, Deswik UGDB, and Deswik Sched and Ventsim

You will also be required to have:

  • Unencumbered C class drivers licence
  • Commitment to working safely, and living our Values to promote a positive, continuous improvement culture
  • Successful completion of pre-employment checks including medical, drug & alcohol testing, Australia police checks and qualification checks
  • Legal right to work in Australia
