Senior Mining Engineer

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mining Engineer to join a dynamic underground coal mining operation. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this role is responsible for providing technical support across mine design, reporting, scheduling, and engineering projects. Key areas include underground mining excavation design, grade planning, and life-of-mine (LOM) development.
Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
• Deliver assigned tasks within set timeframes and project parameters.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed mine designs (including infrastructure and services), mining methods, and mine schedules.
• Ensure project work aligns with operational and environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve performance goals.
• Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation for engineering projects.
• Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor or management.

About You

• Minimum of 5 years experience in an underground coal mining environment (essential)
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
• Proficiency in, or willingness to learn, mine planning software (Deswik)
• Strong work ethic
• A commitment to safety, operational excellence, and production targets
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of computer literacy
