THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineers (Underground) to join the team at Ora Banda.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Develop and implement optimum underground development, stope designs and mining methods. Optimise equipment requirements and minimise mining costs.
- Deliver short, medium and long term mine plans, ensuring consistency to maintain continuity of the mine planning process.
- Prepare underground mine development and production schedules, including:
- Oversee the preparation and optimisation of drill and blast plans.
- Plan and oversee the dewatering system in the mine.
- Coordinate mining engineering activities with production teams, surveyors, geologists, drill and blast and contractor teams.
- Monitor day to day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards.
- Undertake ongoing update of underground Life of Mine plan.
- Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance.
- Supervise mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities.
- Provide mine designs and schedules for underground capital and operating cost budgets and forecasts.
- Review underground mine planning cost reports and address any variances.
- Undertake project work and mine engineering activities as required.
- Promote a continuous improvement approach to the conduct of all operations.
- Undertaken any other duties as may be specified from time to time by the Mining Manager or delegate.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in mining engineering or related discipline.
- 7 years experience in underground mining operations.
- 2 years in a senior mine planning role.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Skilled in mine planning and scheduling software Deswik (& Deswik IS).
- First Class Mine Managers ticket, or experience to qualify.
- Current WA C-class drivers licence.
