We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Geologist (underground) to join a well-established, growth-focused gold producer in WA’s Southern Goldfields. You will lead day-to-day mine geology, ensure ore is extracted with minimal dilution and maximum value, and provide strong technical guidance to site and the Perth technical team. You’ll supervise junior geologists/techs, maintain high standards in grade control and reconciliation, and contribute to life-of-mine planning outcomes, this is one to look at.
Essential
- Tertiary degree in Geology or similar.
- Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety Act .
- Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations .
- C Class driver’s license.
- Membership of AIG or AusIMM.
Desirable
- Mental health first aid provider.
- Senior First Aid Qualification.
Position Duties:
- Manage all mine geology activities, including monitoring ore mining, grade control and geological reconciliation.
- Provide clear geological advice to operations to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
- Carry out and oversee routine production and grade control tasks, leading by example.
- Contribute to life-of-mine planning in line with corporate expectations.
- Supervise and mentor geologists, graduates and geotechnicians; support technical training programs.
- Review and analyse mining, grade and drilling data and issue daily–monthly reporting.
- Assist with geological budgets and identify cost/revenue improvement opportunities.
- Promote and comply with site safety, risk and reporting requirements.
Experience
7 year’s experience within mining industry and 5 years in gold.
