RCR Mining Technologies is a market leader in the design and manufacture of innovative, award-winning materials handling solutions.

Our extensive range of materials handling equipment includes apron and belt feeders, conveyors, bucket wheel excavators, stackers, spreaders, fully track-mounted in-pit mining units and scrubbers.

RCR Mining Technologies are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing team. Based in our Welshpool office, you will collaborate with a large, multidisciplinary team located at our Bunbury head office to successfully deliver a series of projects.

Key Responsibilities are:

  • Production and issue of 3D CAD models across all project phases including concept, design, and detailed design.
  • Production and issue of technical drawings for manufacture, tendering, and as project deliverables.
  • Utilising AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Vault as required.
  • Develop sound and effective design solutions in collaboration with engineers, designers, customers, and workshop staff.
  • Work to Customers scope of work and specifications.
  • Lead, manage, control, and report on design projects as directed.
  • Enhance processes and procedures within the engineering group where possible.
  • Provide a mentor role to trainees and less experienced designers.
  • Ability to lead design projects and other designers.

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in 3D CAD mechanical design of minerals handling products
  • Willingness to learn and develop your technical skills in the design of process plant equipment.
  • Understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
  • Knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles and practices.
  • The ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Keen eye for detail and a systematic approach to producing deliverables.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously or as a part of team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
