Overview
This role will manage and internal audits including compliance audits, data analysis reviews and forensic investigations across the Operating Companies of CIMIC Group by:
- Obtaining, analysing and evaluating process documentation, reports, data, flowcharts, and other supporting documents;
- Assessing the design and testing the operation of controls and converting it into automated checks over data;
- Drafting internal audit presentations including recommendations to improve business processes and controls;
- Conducting follow up audits to monitor managements progress on agreed actions;
- Performing other audit related projects based on management request; and
- Stake holder management.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Conduct end-to-end audits across diverse topics and Operating Companies by using data to identify potential control deficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Leverage technology and tools to enhance the data review process and uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the EGM to deliver the annual audit plan and provide insights to the Board.
- Prepare and present findings to senior stakeholders to support the implementation of meaningful and practical improvements.
- Respond to management requests for specific audits and reviews of information and data.
Education and Qualifications required for this role:
- Degree qualified in accounting, finance or other relevant qualification
- Preferable, qualification from relevant professional body, for example Charted Account (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CPA etc.
Experience, Skills and Behavioural Competencies required for this role:
- Minimum 15 years relevant experience
- Experience with a Big 4 global accounting firms is advantageous
- Interest in data analytics, writing of code/programming and use of Power BI or similar tools;
- Ability to work autonomously, proactively and as part of an international team;
- Adept communication, presentation, interview and listening skills;
- A track record of timely delivery of required outputs that meet stakeholder expectations;
- Demonstrated successful delivery of audit services in complex environments;
- Ability to think laterally and analytically, applying innovation to internal audit challenges; and
- Thorough knowledge of internal audit methodologies, including internal control frameworks.
