Senior Environment Advisor

ConsMin produces some of the worlds highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Description:

Our Environmental department are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join a high performing and motivated team of individuals.

Reporting to the Principal Environment & Sustainability, the successful applicant will be required to:

• Mentor and support the Environmental Team on site to deliver on existing compliance obligations;
• Identify and deliver sustainability projects and business improvement opportunities;
• Drive the implementation of new approval conditions under Part IV of the EP Act and EPBC Act to achieve compliance;
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to external agencies and stakeholders;
• Lead the implementation of the environmental management system on site and develop supporting policies and procedures;
• Support the operational implementation of Sustainability standards and associated reporting requirements on site.

Requirements to be successful in this role are:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in environmental management in the mining industry or related fields;
• C class drivers licence and 4WD experience;
• Exposure to environmental approval processes;
• Self-motivation, with strong interpersonal skills that complement our team;
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or equivalent;
• Strong understanding of environmental and mining legislative requirements;
• Demonstrated people management experience;
• Experience with a GIS package is essential;
• Established incident management, investigation and reporting experience;
• Previous experience working under Part IV of the EPA Act and EPBC Act (highly desirable)
• Strong report writing and project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
