PSP are seeking a motivated Economic Development Specialist to join a local council in the North West to help drive growth and sustainability in the region on a contract basis, to start ASAP.
Role Overview:

Drive Economic Growth: Promote local business development, create job opportunities, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders including government, businesses, and community organizations.
Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate on designing and implementing economic development strategies, focusing on tourism and investment attraction.
Research & Insights: Use economic tools to gather and analyze data, offering insights to inform strategies and present findings to stakeholders.
Support & Collaboration: Provide project management for economic development projects and work with the Arts and Culture Officer to enhance community engagement.

Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience in economic development, business engagement, or a related field. Event management experience is an asset.
Skills: Strong research and data analysis abilities, proficiency with economic tools such as Remplan, and effective communication skills.
Collaboration: Proven ability to work with various stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and community organizations.
Project Management: Experience in managing projects and implementing strategies.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment with fewer in-person hours.
Documentation: Competence in preparing reports, memos, and briefing notes.
Events & Festivals experience a plus
