Senior Design Engineer

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Design Engineer (Geotechnical) to join McConnell Dowells Engineering function and support the delivery of some of Australias most complex and meaningful infrastructure.

This is a senior, technical, delivery-critical role where your engineering thinking actually shapes how we build. Because our projects continue to demand smart temporary works, method engineering and geotechnical leadership, not just compliance. Were an engineering-led contractor and we want people who crave being close to methodology, buildability, safety through design and commercial advantage.

What youll be doing

Youll support bid teams and delivery teams to develop methodology, geotechnical solutions and temporary works designs that differentiate us and de-risk the job.

Typical remit includes:

• lead design packages and supervise junior designers / drafters
• oversee and review geotechnical analysis, reports and design outputs
• verify temporary works and lift plans
• manage investigations, monitoring programs, and assess geotechnical risk
• prepare design documentation, design reports & design presentations

What you bring

• 10 years within heavy civil / major infrastructure / tier 1 / temp works or specialist geotechnical design
• Australian codes standards confidence
• experience with temporary works, foundations, retaining systems, slope stability etc
• ability to plan, schedule, prioritise and drive outcomes
