About the Project
Iluka’s Eneabba Rare Earth Refinery (ERER) Project is located at Eneabba in Western Australia. We are delivering Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery, achieving an independent supply of rare earth oxides essential to global electrification and decarbonisation. Our state-of-the-art refinery will feature a total rare earth oxide capacity of 23,000 tonnes p.a, flexibility to process a range of feedstocks and recycling of water and reagents.
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Contracts Specialist to join our projects team. This is a permanent position based at our Perth Projects office initially assigned to the ERER Project. Regular site travel will be required.
The Senior Contracts Specialist provides contract expertise and effective contract formulation, negotiation and administration. Along with guidance and advice to Contracts Officers and Administrators in the execution of the Company’s commercial contracting and associated processes in respect of the supply of materials and services to Iluka projects.
Key elements of the role include:
- Provide contract advice and support to Officers and Administrators as well as project procurement personnel and others in the preparation, execution and management of all Iluka contract requirements
- Development of contract based commercial solutions with the aim of improving Iluka’s objectives
- Responsibility for running high value tender and Request for Proposal (RFP) (e.g. Concrete and SMPEI Construction Contracts) commercial programs including final negotiation and recommendation to award
- Delivering the total lowest cost solutions by negotiation with existing contractors for variations
- Formulation, drafting and finalisation of commercially and legally viable contract based business solutions
- Monitor and manage contractor performance
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commercial Law or related discipline (preferred)
- Experience in the preparation and management of a wide range of contract types and applications
- Demonstrated relevant experience, preferably in a mining industry context
- Practical experience in the use of contractual documentation in commodity, service and project type contracts.
- Demonstrated and effective experience in the formation and post contract administration of Concrete and vertical SMPEI construction contacts
- Highly developed negotiation Skills
- A sound understanding of practical commercial, legal and risk aspects of contracting
- Understanding of policy and process controls and their application
- Effective management and resolution of contract based business problems
