About the role

Our Commissioning Department is now a key focus, with investment in resources and capability to strengthen our technical expertise, and while establishing ourselves as a leading HV contractor in the renewables space, we are also offering a long-term career pathway to shape your future professional development

As a Senior Commissioning Officer, youll take the lead on a variety of challenging projects, including renewable energy installations, substations, and transmission networks, and be at the forefront of ensuring high-voltage systems operate safely and reliably. Youll lead and perform pre-energisation testing and verification on new and upgraded equipment, preventing costly failures, minimising downtime, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and protecting personnel and assets. Your work will directly contribute to efficient project delivery, build client trust, and safeguard the businesss reputation, making you a critical part of Enervens success.

Day to day you will:  

  • Lead the planning and execution of commissioning activities for E&I systems.
  • Conduct and manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new and refurbished systems.
  • Drive quality, safety, and compliance with Australian and international standards.
  • Review designs and provide technical input to project and engineering teams.
  • Develop commissioning procedures, test plans, and completion records.
  • Coordinate with SCADA, controls, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Support fault finding and issue resolution during commissioning activities.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning tests and commission primary and secondary equipment within substations.
  • Prepare and maintain FAT and SAT documentation for upcoming installations.
  • Produce accurate drawing markups and documentation to capture system changes and support project closeouts at the end of the project lifecycle.

We currently have projects based across both SA and NSW, with a requirement to work away from home. Project rosters can vary based on client expectations, so flexibility is a must. We would also consider FIFO arrangements from different states for the right candidate.

About you
Were looking for experienced Commissioning Officers to join our team and play a key role in delivering some of Australias largest HV infrastructure and renewable projects.  

Essential requirements include:

  • Electrical License, or Electrical Engineering Degree with extensive knowledge gained through relevant experience
  • Proven expertise in electrical and instrumentation commissioning in High high-voltage environments
  • Demonstrated performance of secondary system testing, including Omicron or similar protection and control testing units, and working with IEC communication-based substation automation systems
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, including AS/NZS , AS/NZS , AS / (functional safety)
  • Experience supporting commissioning teams in brownfield and greenfield environments
  • Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) processes
  • Strong technical writing skills for commissioning plans, procedures, ITPs, and records
  • Proven ability to manage safety-critical commissioning activities with strong risk awareness
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical, process, SCADA, and construction teams
