About the opportunity
Westgold Resources are actively sourcing a Senior Business Partner – Finance (Tax) with an excellent attention to detail and strong knowledge of Australian Tax Law and Accounting to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Manager Financial Reporting, the successful incumbent will manage financial operations, coordinate tax reporting processes and support strategic financial and tax decision making.
The role includes
- Accounting for Corporate Departments
- Maintenance of the Monthly Tax Fixed Asset Registers
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Income Tax return, including liaising with the Companys external tax advisors
- Assist with the preparation of the Groups quarterly tax effect accounting
- Provide strategic tax advice including drafting internal compliance position papers
- Monthly Business Activity Statements and Annual Fringe Benefits Tax returns
- Income and Indirect tax compliance and supporting with tax governance
- Maintaining internal Financial, Tax and Accounting Policies
- Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements, drive efficiency and identify cost savings
- Ad-hoc requests and supporting the Team as required
What do I need?
- Practical application of end of month reporting process, cost analysis, budgeting and forecasting
- Demonstrated 5 years in a similar role (ideally within mining industry)
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong knowledge of Australian Tax Law and Accounting
- Knowledge of Canadian Tax law is desirable
- Bachelor of Business/Commerce
- Full Professional Membership with CA ANZ/CPA Australia/CTA
