About the Role 

An opportunity has become available for a Senior BESS Engineer in Brisbane, QLD for Downers Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Renewables Technical Manager. A Senior BESS Engineer is a key member of the New Energy team, responsible to deliver the Engineering and Design for our industrial projects, specifically in the SEQ water industry. This unique role will be involved in the initial planning, design, construction and commissioning of multiple BESS projects. The ideal candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:

• Provide industry leading delivery of design and design management to the highest standards across the infrastructure projects division
• Ensure services are procured for both internal and external
• All designs are compliant to industry standards
• Proactively plan the role out of BESS projects with Project Managers and clients.
• Work closely with Project Managers and other project engineering staff to ensure effective integration of Design Management Services with operational teams

About You  

• SAA accreditation for grid connected BESS design, Electrical or other relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering plus a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferable
• A proven track record of Design Delivery on Design and Construct Contracts
• Demonstrated understanding of reporting, cost planning, estimating, contract administration, commercial management and project controls is essential
• Extensive experience preparing and evaluating tender documentation
• Outstanding people leadership skills including a total commitment to creating a Zero Harm workplace
