Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team in Brisbane, QLD, on an initial contract basis until June . This role best suits someone who can start immediately. 

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Monthly financial reporting
  • Preparation of monthly management reports
  • P&L reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Prepare and ensure all Balance sheet reconciliations are completed and assist the transactional team with review as required.
  • Manage the preparation of tax schedules, including BAS, PAYG, Payroll tax, FBT and income tax returns.
  • Provide accounting support in the preparation of regulatory, half yearly and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and undertake related accounting and reconciliations
  • Assist as required with External Audit functions and internal Audit function
  • Report on and investigate monthly P&L variances to budget

About You:


As the ideal candidate, you possess a CA/CPA or equivalent qualification with 4-5 years’ commercial finance experience with knowledge of company accounting and reporting (journals, fixed assets, cash flow). This role could also suit a first time mover from Big 4 with multiple years’ experience. 

Your expertise in consolidated company accounting and reporting, including knowledge of AASB 3, 15, and 16, will be invaluable. Experience with major ERP systems is highly desirable. With intermediate to advanced Excel skills and a keen attention to detail, you will maintain accuracy and integrity in all reports.
