About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Sydney head office. This role will support the Finance Manager and General Manager Finance in the Corporate Finance function ensuring accuracy and integrity of financials and maintaining compliance with accounting standard and regulations and to provide quality accounting services to Laing ORourke Business Units and projects.
Key responsibilities
- Review and prepare month-end journals for proportional consolidation of joint ventures and alliances
- Review and update monthly project forecast to ensure alignment with the business plan and process
- Perform quarterly of review of project financials to identify and improve gaps in the project process to ensure their compliance with the accounting standard
- Prepare and review journal entries including accruals, prepayments, consolidation elimination, one-off large transactions
- Perform monthly/quarterly corporate overhead analysis investigation and commentary on actual versus budgeted expenditure and liaison with Functional Heads
- Liaise with auditors for year-end audit
About you
- Strong technical accounting skills (AASB/IFRS knowledge)
- TM1 experience preferable
- CA or CPA qualified
- 3-5 years accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Construction industry experience preferable
- Audit of construction entities experience is a plus
