What is the overall job?

The Semi-skilled Craftsman will be responsible for undertaking maintenance, routine inspections, installation, fault finding, repairs, and services on the full range of equipment, services and fabric related items in the Peterborough City Hospital and associated buildings. This role will entail attending to all reactive and planned jobs and dealing with electrical/mechanical issues, other responsibilities will include:

  • Making necessary repairs and assisting contractors as required
  • Understanding the working of and continuously gaining knowledge of electrical/mechanical installations
  • Performing regular tests as per HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) as detailed in PPM’s (Planned Preventive Maintenance) and all relevant statutory requirements
  • Using all relevant tools and equipment and undertaking cleaning tasks as appropriate
  • Supporting the management and technical team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with contract KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) including contractual response times.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience in electrical engineering or mechanical services engineering with a recognised training qualification
  • Flexibility to work the hours that support and enable the needs of the client to be met.
