About The Role


We are seeking an experienced, site based Safety & Training Advisor to join us across our Goldfields/Mid West open pit projects.

We have multiple current and upcoming projects with ASX listed mining companies across WA, and are looking to bolster our team in preparation for a record year!

Key Accountabilities

  • Facilitate on site training and VOC activities for project personnel, with a heavy emphasis on training plant operators (fleet includes PC/ Excavators, Komatsu & 785 Trucks, CAT Dozer, Grader and Loaders)
  • Provide support, coaching and assistance in the planning of work, using the Safe Systems of Work.
  • Conduct leadership engagements of the critical controls and safe systems of work.
  • Facilitate with the employees changes to the company SOPs and any reviews of existing SOPs.
  • Coach and monitor the leadership team on the implementation of the safety strategy, Management Plans and principal mining hazards embedment within day to day operations.
  • Assist line management with the incident investigation and reporting process.
  • Ensure records are maintained utilizing PeopleTray/MS Teams

  

What you will bring to the role:

  • It is ESSENTIAL that you possess previous experience training mobile plant operators in open pit mining
  • Sound knowledge of the applicable (or relevant) State occupational health and safety act and regulations.
  • A good understanding of risk management
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within the open pit mining sector
  • Working in remote locations (for site-based roles)
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  

  

It is essential you will possess the following licences/quals:

  • Australian C class drivers licence
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • Current First Aid
  • National Police Clearance (or able to obtain)

This role is FIFO from Perth to site, on an even time rostered basis.
