Job Description
About the role
The Registered Psychologist provides evidence-based therapy for people in the community referred by General Practitioners (GPs), provisional referrers and allied health professionals/organisations.
You will be required to undertake a range of tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Plan and implement psychological services for individuals and/or their families in collaboration with other team members
- Provide psychological opinion, advice and assessments for clients, individuals and/or families, referrers, and other clinicians
- Use appropriate psychological assessments in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of clients
- Maintain clinical records of the client within their electronic medical record
- Guide, support, and mentor provisional and intern psychologists where appropriate
- Assist the intake team in assessing referrals against program guidelines & suitability
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Selection Criteria
- Current full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience working as a Registered Psychologist across the lifespan
- Experience and confidence to work with individuals with suicidal ideation and self-harm
- Eligible for or registered with Medicare Australia (Registered Psychologists)
- Eligibility to work in Australia permanently
- First Aid Certificate (to be obtained and maintained at your own expense)
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a Criminal Record Check (CRC) issued within the last 12 months that includes working with vulnerable groups
- A valid NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) to be obtained and maintained at your own expense
