Grand Pacific Health is a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation.  We’re here to provide our local communities in NSW and the ACT with equitable, inclusive and integrated health care including physical health and mental health care services.  We currently employ 340 people, provide services from 25 locations and are continuing to grow.
 
Grand Pacific Health’s Queanbeyan Alcohol and Other Drugs Hub is a NSW Ministry of Health funded program designed to provide welcoming and safe services and spaces for people experiencing, or at risk of harm from alcohol and other drugs (AOD). 
 
The Queanbeyan AOD Hub is a collaboration between Grand Pacific Health, Directions Health and Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Region Health and Community Services.
  
About the position
 
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse, AOD to support the establishment of this program in Queanbeyan and is passionate about making a positive impact on the mental health and wellbeing of people affected by Alcohol and Other Drugs in our local communities.
 
You will work collaboratively with consumers and their family/carers to provide primary health support, care coordination, referrals and home-based detox supports with the aim of improving outcomes and reducing harm associated with drug and alcohol use. This position works collaboratively with the other members of the Queanbeyan AOD team and external service providers to maximise care outcomes for consumers.
 
Based at our Queanbeyan hub, this position is part-time 2.5 days per week hours) and is fixed term until 30 June with possibility of extension. 
 
This is a community base service operating within business hours – no shiftwork! 
 
We are looking for someone with:
 
  1. Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience.
  2. Demonstrated skills and experience in providing community-based nursing, AOD and/or mental health
  3. Demonstrated understanding or knowledge of the principles of harm minimization and recovery focused support gained through experience, education and/or training
  4. Demonstrated ability to engage with AOD consumers and their families, friends, or carers to undertake assessment to determine care needs and provide care coordination and referral support
