The Role:

 

Reporting to the General Manager, Transport, the Regional Manager is responsible for leading and managing the North Queensland Region Transport Operations, building capable and productive depot teams, leading safety and compliance excellence and driving operational performance across all four (4) depots Mackay, Mareeba, Innisfail and Tully.

 

We are open to chatting to candidates who have a home base in or around one these depots or a commutable distance away.

 

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of four (4) transport depots that supports 350 regionally based employees and equipment movements annually.
  • Overseeing operational, financial and safety performance of the region.
  • Leading, coaching and influencing your team to deliver exceptional results, and DIFOT, safety, compliance, cost, customer and other key business targets.
  • Manage, support, and grow the compatibility of your Depot Managers to ensure the region is well resourced, employee retention is strong, and people are accountable.
  • Track performance across the region; identify and deliver improvement initiatives.
  • Build excellent relationships with customers, suppliers, and other teams in the business.
  • Supporting business growth in the region through consistent customer engagement.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that support the Values of the business.
  • Be present, be a Leader of Leaders; have an in-depth knowledge of industry, market and what each depot is involved in.

About You:

  • Seasoned senior leadership experience with a background in transport, logistics, warehousing, or an associated sector.
  • Leadership of decentralised teams across multi-sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor, to improve culture and lead change.
  • Demonstrated visible and authentic Safety leadership
  • Excellent people leader and communicator.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret business and financial data and reports, and industry compliance and regulations documentation.
  • High energy, enthusiastic and positive leadership style.
  • Exceptional customer service & interpersonal skills.
  • Highly responsive, flexible and with a problem-solving orientation.
  • Confident using systems, reports, and basic IT tools
