Quantity Surveyor – Mine Infrastructure

The Company:

Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading mining and resources asset owner headquartered in Brisbane. As they embark on an exciting expansion, they are transitioning into the execution phase of a new greenfield mine in Regional Queensland.

This large-scale project encompasses the development of pits, processing facilities, tailings storage, non-processing infrastructure, utility networks, power generation, and camp/village construction.

With the final design phase nearing completion, they now require a Quantity Surveyor to join their team through construction. This may be an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to transition from hard-dollar contracting to a client-side role.

The Role:

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for managing project costs from design through to completion. This role offers significant autonomy and oversight across all cost-related aspects of construction, including:

• Cost estimation and control
• Value-for-money assessments
• Cost analysis and reporting
• Preparation of tender documents
• Driving project efficiency

This role will operate on an 8:6 FIFO lifestyle roster. This role is engaged as a MTC until December , with potential extensions pending project outlook.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
• Minimum 6 years post-graduate experience in a similar role
• Previous mining & resources project experience (highly desirable)
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Commercially astute and results-driven
