WHAT YOULL DO

As a Purchasing Officer you will proactively assist company productivity by the purchase of items at competitive pricing ensuring items arrive on schedule. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are delivered on time to customer expectations and within budget to ensure production targets are met.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Direct purchasing and expediting of products, services and raw materials
  • Ensure a high standard of Supplier/Customer service is maintained
  • Provide accurate data to accounting department for all purchasing
  • Respond to enquiries from project managers, engineers, supervisors and leading hands
  • Participate in Procurement activities and projects

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Your strong customer service skills and ability to seek ways of adding value to our business will be complemented with the following:

  • Enrolling in Cert IV or Diploma in Purchasing (desirable)
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Competent in the Microsoft Office applications, ERP and MRP systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a great attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in stores/logistics role
