Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Project Governance & Assurance Coordinator in Canberra to work on Land projects.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
- Plan and manage core project governance and assurance, including maintaining the Governance Plan, supporting BMS Enterprise governance, and conducting quality audits of documentation and processes.
- Coordinate document control and clearance workflows, ensuring compliance with policy and templates, managing reviews for senior approval, and maintaining highquality project artefacts.
- Support project risk management within Predict!, coordinating monthly risk forums, assuring riskowner accountability, and ensuring risks meet policy and quality standards.
- Provide secretariat and vendorengagement support, managing governance meetings, facilitating initial vendor onboarding, and establishing administrative and dataexchange processes for the BCS Enterprise.
- Deliver specialist governance advice and reporting, supporting performance reporting, ensuring legislative and policy compliance, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes within defined timeframes.
What Youll Bring
- Governance and assurance leadership, including planning, managing and monitoring governance activities, developing key governance documents, and supporting assurance processes within complex Defence project environments.
- Project and contract performance reporting, with the ability to analyse, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets while applying strong riskassessment skills.
- Highlevel stakeholder and relationship management, demonstrating influence, strategic thinking, commercial acumen and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships across diverse and complex stakeholder systems.
- Advanced communication and technical writing capability, able to produce highquality governance and assurance documentation, communicate formally and informally, and support strategic decisionmaking.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimumNegative Vetting 1or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
