The Product Quality Manager role is critical in managing and leading the sampling, testing and reporting of final product quality as part of Quality Assurance at Boral Cement. In this role, you will be customer facing with both internal and external customers and will ensure the ongoing compliance of final product sampling frequencies and testing activities with customer specifications or other published standards by maintaining the Quality Assurance testing and reporting schedules. This role contributes to ensuring the overall performance and quality of cement, lime and limestone production processes and therefore the achievement of Borals overall sustainability and strategic objectives. Your day will involve:

  • Provide specialist technical support on sampling, testing and product quality to Quality Managers
  • Act as the primary technical interface between Boral Cement Operations and Boral Sales and Marketing in relation to product quality
  • Manage Sequence Quality Incident Management system to identify quality incidents through testing and issues raised by customers
  • Ensure standardised reports (Spreadsheets and Certificates) are available from the Boral Cements NATA certified Quality Assurance Laboratory delivering real value in terms of managing product quality and facilitating a high level of laboratory efficiency
  • Regular reporting on Boral Cement Benchmarking including monitoring relative performance of our products against competitor products, and implement programs to address identified issues
  • Lead and promote Borals safety, quality and environmental policies.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Applied Science (Chemistry), Materials Science/Engineering, Manufacturing or Geology will be beneficial but not essential
  • Analytical skills with some statistical process control methodologies
  • Computer literacy with the ability to develop reports and work with systems

At Boral, we supply up to 4 million tonnes of cementitious products through our Berrima Clinker & Cement Manufacturing, Maldon Cement Grinding & Packaging, Marulan South Limestone Mine & Manufacturing, and Geelong Cement Grinding Operations.
