The Everyday Banking team supports the full spectrum of customers’ transaction banking and deposit needs, from birth through to retirement. We help over 9 million customers manage their day-to-day spending, save to achieve financial goals, and more. We have end-to-end accountability for all Retail Deposits and Transactions products, customer experiences, Open Banking obligations, and key customer journeys, including Disputes and Deceased Estates.

The Everyday Products team within Everyday Banking manages core Transaction accounts, Retail Payments, and Retail FX products. This portfolio is central to the Retail Bank’s franchise, serving as an anchor product for customers who consider CBA their main financial institution. Within the Everyday Products team, the Product Portfolio team manages the product portfolio end-to-end, including P&L, supplier management, change delivery, proactive risk management, and optimising customer and business outcomes.
This role reports to the Crew Lead, Everyday Products.
Do Work That Matters
As an Executive Product Owner, you will manage the financial and non-financial performance of the portfolio, delivering exceptional customer outcomes that support our goal of achieving an NPS of 30.
Specifically, you will,
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and execute the product strategy and customer value proposition for Retail Transaction accounts.
- Establish mechanisms to identify opportunities to enhance the product, streamline customer experiences, and drive outcomes aligned with KPIs and OKRs.
- Focus on improving the Transaction Account customer experience by seeking out and acting on the voice of the customer across all channels and segments.
- Attract and develop talent through interviewing, recruiting, hiring, and mentoring squad members and other product owners.
- Foster a long-term business culture across the Product Owner community and chapter.
- Incorporate design thinking and analytics into product design.
- Lead a team of product, analytics, and technology specialists to drive meaningful change.
- Provide visible leadership and people management.
- Lead portfolio optimisation and engage with senior stakeholders/business units (frontline and Technology) to manage the delivery of the product and service roadmap.
- Maintain a well-prioritised backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
- Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure prioritisation is understood and agreed upon.
- Oversee the Squad’s performance, including OKR tracking.
- Manage Everyday Banking’s portfolio of suppliers.
- Effectively manage risk by:
- Leading and ensuring a positive risk culture within the team
- Developing and challenging the end-to-end risk and control environment to ensure alignment with risk appetite
- Proactively identifying, managing, and closing issues, incidents, and risk mitigation initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with key internal CBA policies, including the Operational and Supplier Risk Management Framework; and
- Ensuring projects are delivered with a focus on executional excellence and proactively managing change-associated risks
