About The Opportunity
Join our multi-disciplined team at the Gin Gin Depot as a Plant Operator! We’re seeking skilled individuals to perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction activities within our Civil Branch.
We have openings for both Level 5 and Level 6 Plant Operators.
Level 5 Plant Operators: Operate a range of plant equipment, including skid-steer loaders, tractors (up to 110kW), front-end loaders (up to 2.25m), rollers (vibrating over 4 tonne and static over 8 tonne), vehicle loading cranes (over 9.5 metre tonne), backhoes (low to moderate complexity), and excavators (up to 0.5m).
You will need:
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence with Special Vehicle endorsement Class UD is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of relevant item/s of plant (Workplace Health and Safety Certificate of Competency for the relevant item/s of plant or previous competency assessments undertaken).
- Demonstrated sound level experience in Roads and Drainage construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrated high level ability to work within a team environment to ensure that outcomes are achieved.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with a variety of internal and external parties.
- Possession of a current Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card.

Level 6 Plant Operators: In addition to the Level 5 equipment, operate rigid motor vehicles (over 15 tonnes GVM and 22.5 tonnes GCM) and tow trailers (approximately 16 tonnes GVM).
You will need:
- Possession of a current Class ‘HC’ Drivers Licence as appropriate with industry skills and extensive experience driving a rigid motor vehicle of over 15 tonnes GVM and 22.5 tonnes GCM.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in Roads and Drainage construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrated sound level ability to work within a team environment to ensure that outcomes are achieved.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with a variety of internal and external parties.
- Ability to work outside normal working hours.
- Possession of a current Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card.
- Traffic Controller Accreditation (MUTCD levels 1 or 2) with experience in undertaking traffic control and signage set-out on public roads.
