Downer Energy & Utilities are on the hunt for their next superstar Planner to support the Bayswater Power Station located in Muswellbrook, NSW. This is a rare opportunity for a highly capable Planner with shutdown or heavy industry experience to ensure time, cost and quality targets are achieved whilst keeping Zero Harm at the forefront of our mind.
Please note we are seeking local applicants for this opportunity however we are open to discussing the possibility of a FIFO/DIDO or relocation agreement for the right person.
The primary focus of the role is to work with the Downer and client outage management team to robustly plan and effectively track progress on annual major outages of power generation plant, with hundreds of resources and tens of thousands of schedule activities. During the outages you will produce live updates to the program daily, consulting with the delivery team to ensure it is kept up to date.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Utilise P6 to develop, monitor and manage project schedules, provide reports, manage cost and time records, reports and outcomes.
- Work in conjunction with key stakeholders to identify, develop and implement schedules, execution plans, and reports.
- Advise key team members and subcontractors of the planned work schedule and subsequent changes required for compliance.
- Perform delay analysis as needed and support with suitable narrative.
- Manage project concerns and expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role, working in Power Stations, Capital Works or Heavy Industry is preferred.
- Tertiary qualification or Diploma in Engineering, Business Management or Project Management is preferred.
- Prior experience in Shutdowns, Construction or Mining Projects is desirable.
- Advanced skills in Primavera P6 and proficient in MS Project.
- High levels of verbal and written communications skills.
- Power BI knowledge and working experience (desirable).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and contracts.
