Job Ad: Communications Technician (Casual/Temporary – 6 Months, FIFO 8/6)
Location: FIFO from Perth
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
About the Role
Ruff Road is looking for an experienced Communications Technician to join our team on a casual/temporary basis. This is a FIFO role working an 8/6 roster supporting communication systems in a mining environment. If you have mining experience and ideally underground leaky feeder knowledge, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication systems and other OT systems on-site.
Ensuring equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and compliance standards.
Diagnosing and repairing faults in underground and surface communication networks.
Collaborating with site teams to support critical communications infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working in a mining environment (essential).
Experience with underground leaky feeder systems (preferred).
Experience with optical fibre networks and data collection systems (preferred)
Strong technical knowledge of communications equipment.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure.
Current driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test.
