About the role

As a result of an internal promotion, we have an opportunity to join our ARC (The Australian Reinforcing Company) branch in Revesby as a Day Shift Supervisor!
With 10 direct reports and operations spanning across two shifts, you will play a critical part in overseeing the safety and efficiency in relation to reinforcing bar production and mesh distribution. Your primary focus will revolve around people management, safety enforcement, and optimising operations.
This is a full-time position where the hours of work will be 9:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Your priorities include:
 

  • Leading and empowering the team by fostering a culture of collaboration
  • Ensuring all WHS management system requirements are met and safety standards are maintained
  • Meet production and output KPIs through effective planning to ensure targets are consistently met
  • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders and departments and address any operational challenges
  • Identifying and reporting on opportunities for improvement initiatives
  • Allocating appropriate manning and ensuring employees are trained, fit, qualified, and competent to effectively run operations

We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in people management within manufacturing or associated heavy industries. Your expertise in robust safety practices, fostering relationships and adapting to changing priorities will be essential
You will also have:
 

  • High-level problem-solving, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Proven experience supervising or managing a team in manufacturing or relevant industries
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Suite
  • Solid understanding of safety management systems and cultivating a safety culture
  • Strong time management, organisation and communication skills
