Our KCGM Growth Project Team currently has a fantastic opportunity for an Operational Readiness Specialist Processing, to join the operational readiness team managing a major expansion and modernisation project at our KCGM Gold Processing Plant in Kalgoorlie.
Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager – Processing, this position will be an initial 18-month-contract and can be either Kalgoorlie based (Residential only) working an ongoing 5/2, 4/3 roster or alternatively FIFO out of Perth, working an ongoing 4/3 roster.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the execution of the processing operations function deliverables, that are required as part of the project operational readiness scope, as well as supporting the commissioning and ramp up of the asset. You will also provide strong leadership through coaching, mentoring and developmental activities with the team, as well as offering your expertise and guidance to the broader operational readiness team, helping drive a positive workplace culture that reflects NSRs Core Values.
- Develop & implement operational readiness strategy for processing operations.
- Schedule & track progress of deliverables.
- Engage with the relevant site stakeholders, championing effective collaboration across the project.
- Contribute to the development of processing operating strategies.
- Define the roles & responsibilities for operational team members.
- Review, update & develop operational technology functions required by the operating strategies.
- Develop & implement operating guidelines (Trigger Response Action Plans), as well as update operator routine tasks.
- Assist with confined space assessments & implementation of controls.
- Contribute to the development & verification of isolation procedures, as well as the development & maintenance of training resources & procedures.
- Implement new/updated systems & processes following change management guidelines.
- Provide expertise and guidance to broader operational readiness team.
- Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture that reflects NSRs Core Values.
- Integrate solutions for current state processing opportunities.
- Identify issues/gaps which require resolution & develop management plans to implement improvements.

You will understand the complexities involved in the delivery of large-scale mining, construction projects, possessing the ability to anticipate and plan for potential risk. With a keen focus on cost management, you have a passion for delivering best practice across your remit.
Qualifications:
- A Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering would be desirable, although not essential.
Experience:
- 10 years of relevant experience in the hydrometallurgical processing industry.
- Significant experience in a leadership role (3 years)
- Gold processing plant experience, ideally including flotation & ultra fine grinding.
- Familiarity with operational technologies utilised in processing plants i.e. task management, log sheets and downtime tracking applications. e.g. MIPAC
- Competence in isolation & permitting processes.
- Excellent comprehension of change management processes.
- Demonstrated experience in successful project integration.
- Strong computer literacy Microsoft Office.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations / WHS.
