Our Mount Magnet Mining (MMG) operations include multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. Active areas include Galaxy underground, Cue open pit, and Penny underground, with further expansion and exploration underway.

  

THE ROLE

  

The Cue Gold Project is a high-grade gold mine located in the Murchison region, about 40 km north of the Mount Magnet Operations (MMO). Providing substantial mill feed as a hub mine to MMO, Cue is currently an open pit operation with strong underground potential. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will:

  • Manage stockpiles and track daily production with accurate reconciliation and validation.
  • Conduct safe, high-quality pit wall mapping and RC chip sampling.
  • Plan and execute RC-GC drilling programs to define ore and log results effectively.
  • Build and maintain 3D geological models using pit mapping and chip logging.
  • Design ore blocks to maximise recovery and efficiency post-blast.
  • Apply blast movement monitoring to improve ore extraction accuracy.
  • Ensure timely, accurate drillhole and production data management.
  • Work closely with mining teams to boost ore recovery and reduce dilution.
  • Lead and support graduate geologists and technicians.
  • Deliver reliable geological data, QAQC, and reporting on schedule.

ABOUT YOU


You’re a hands-on, detail-focused geologist who thrives in a dynamic mining environment. With solid technical skills and a collaborative mindset, you deliver accurate, efficient result safely and consistently.

To succeed, you can demonstrate: 

  • Degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field
  • Experienced in open pit mining geology
  • Confident with Surpac, Leapfrog, and mine planning tools
  • Skilled in designing and executing GC programs
  • Familiar with blast movement monitoring and related software
  • Strong in production reporting and data accuracy
  • Solid understanding of gold mineralisation and open pit methods
  • Knowledge of Archean greenstone belts is a plus
  • Clear, concise communicatorwritten and verbal
  • Sharp eye for detail and quality
  • Organised, proactive, and adaptable
  • WA C-class manual licence and Police Clearance.
